“Organizing is a practice, not a project.” -Meagan Francis.
We all know we need to have our homes and living spaces organized but putting that into practice can be hard going or stressful at times.
Today, we’re going to share our top three habits for a well-kept space.
1. Everything Needs to Have A Home
When an item isn’t in use, put it away.
This tip is one of the most beneficial habits to have to ensure your home stays organized.
Before you buy something, you need to make sure that it has a designated place within your home.
If it doesn’t, find something to get rid of, so you can make room.
2. Do a 6 Month Check-In
We’ve all had items in our closets or around our homes that we haven’t used in years.
Rather than letting them continue taking up space, use the six-month check-in.
You’ll want to take a look at all of your clothing, bedding, garage items, tools, dishes, and any other item within your home, and make note of whether or not you used it within the past six months.
If you have not, donate it to people in need, or throw it out (depending on its condition).
3. Put Everything Away from The Store The Same Day
When you get home from the grocery store, you’re tired and want to relax, but if you leave your groceries lying around, they most likely won’t get put away.
Commit to yourself to put all of the groceries away the SAME day, even if you don’t want to at the moment – you’ll be happy you did!
