Life can get busy at times, and you can find yourself overworked, overwhelmed, and over scheduled.

When you’re working all day, cleaning is the last thing you want to be doing at night.

With that said, here are five quick cleaning tips that you can use to find that happy balance once again.

1. Work in Bursts

If you notice that you have 10-15 minutes to spare, set a timer, and challenge yourself to get as much work done as you can.

By doing this two or three times a day, you will start seeing a big difference.

Maybe you do the dishwasher and dishes, laundry, or even clean your counters –  every little bit helps, so make it count.

2. Wipe Down the Kitchen Sink After Use

According to WebMD, the kitchen sink is known as one of the dirtiest places in your home, even more so than your toilet: “Food particles from plates left to soak or rinsed from dishes on their way to the dishwasher can serve as a breeding ground for illness-causing bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella. They can get on your hands or spread to foods.”

When the dishes are done, wipe down your sink with a bleach spray. Not only will your sink stay sparkling clean, but you’ll also help to prevent illness-causing bacteria from growing.

3. Clean Out Your Fridge 3 Times A Week

We’ve all had items in our fridge that have become unidentifiable because they’ve been in there for too long.

This is why we recommend cleaning out or, at least, taking a look inside your fridge three times a week.

This can help to prevent foods from going bad while saving you time by not having to clean up bigger messes from rotten food.

4. Fold A Load Of Laundry Daily

Just like the fridge, laundry can start to pile up quickly, so we recommend doing a load once a day (washing and folding).

You can start the load in the morning and fold it at night, or vice versa, whichever fits best with your schedule.

Doing one load of laundry a day, will help prevent you from getting overwhelmed by an enormous avalanche of dirty laundry waiting for you to wash all in one go.

5. Throw Away Trash as You Go

Throwing away trash as you go might seem like an obvious tip, but it’s not always a normal human response.

Some days you’re more tired than others and want to put it off, but before you know it, there’s trash throughout the house.

Resist the temptation to do it another time. Dispose of trash as you go and don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

You will thank yourself later when you don’t have a pile of trash you need to clean up.
